BOSTON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
”Rain or shine.” It’s raining on your wedding day, what to do? The celebration must — and should — go on, of course. But what about you? Will you “rain” or “shine”? Will you yourself fall into a gloom? You’ve had a careful plan in place after all, but life rarely goes to plan. So instead, will you shine? Will you celebrate just as bright and welcome the unique day Mother Nature has gifted you?
As your photographer, I’ll always make the forecast work in our favor, and rainy days are a great opportunity to use our surroundings in ways that make for beautiful photographs. No need to cancel outdoor portraits on a rainy wedding day. Clouds bring whimsical and soft light. The open frame of a doorway or under the canopy of a tree provide not only drier ground, but are the perfect spots to take romantic shelter and create images not possible on brighter days. Most of all, there’s the ever popular transparent umbrella, a truly wonderful wedding day prop because it gives the bride & groom a chance to cozy up close under the vinyl without hiding your expressions from the camera.
I met L+J for the first time minutes before their Catholic wedding ceremony in Newburyport, MA at Immaculate Conception Parish on Green Street. On introduction, I knew we’d have a fantastic outdoor session — not because we had umbrellas — but because L+J were pleasant, flexible, and ready to embrace their special day for the beautiful one it was. They laughed in the rain, strolled the wet walkways, and the moments shined even though the sun wasn’t.
Thank you, L+J, for inviting me to be a part of your celebration!
