Maternity Portrait Sessions are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the approaching arrival of your little one. This is a time of love, excitement, and anticipation, and participants are invited to embrace this moment in a tranquil setting as we collaborate on a timeless collection of images. Combining candid camerawork and gentle posing, we’ll enjoy a comfortable experience that inspires honest, authentic imagery. By photographing with natural light, we can make the most of our chosen location and remain engaged with real moments as they happen.
NEWBORN LIFESTYLE PORTRAIT COLLECTION
Newborn Lifestyle Portrait Sessions journal the intimacy and interactions your family shares as you welcome your baby into your home. Less formal than a studio newborn shoot, in-home Newborn Lifestyle Portrait Sessions photograph your loved ones in a space that is comfortable, familiar, and uniquely yours. Designed as a two-hour session, we’ll share an unhurried experience with the camera while accommodating your little one’s needs. Candid imagery as well as moments guided by the gentle direction of your photographer are the focus of the at-home Newborn Lifestyle Portrait Sessions — your infant swaddled in a bassinet, cradled in your arms, the loving involvement of siblings — photographed in locations such as your bedroom, nursery, and living room. An assortment of loose wraps, furry throws, and baskets are also provided for creative accents. Shooting partly or exclusively outdoors is also an option, and if your home is not suitable, the session can be photographed in a beautiful loft space in downtown Newburyport.
Both Maternity and Newborn sessions include a collection of high-resolution digital photographs processed in the style as seen in my portfolio, an online gallery for sharing your images, and the option to purchase professional, heirloom prints and albums.

You’re investing not only in a photography session, but in my creative commitment to prepare for our shoot beforehand and devote the time necessary afterwards to craft your images into the best they can be before being delivered into your hands. I value our relationship and want you to always feel secure in your choice to work together.
A retainer in the amount of 25% of the package price and the signing of a booking contract is required to reserve your session date. The remaining balance is collected after the session concludes.
For those seeking services outside the Greater Boston // North Shore // Southern New Hampshire area, I’m always available for travel and happy to prepare pricing tailored to your destination needs.

ABOUT YOUR SESSION

Yes, all sessions include the high-resolution digital image files at no extra cost. The number of images you will receive is dependent upon your choice of Session Package. The delivered images are processed in the style as seen in my portfolio.

Consider scheduling your maternity session for your seventh or eighth month of pregnancy, as your belly will have a distinct round shape during this time and shows well in photographs. If you’re counting by weeks, schedule your session when you’re around 30 - 33 weeks pregnant.

Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first one to two weeks after delivery, while they are most content and napping regularly. As the weeks progress and your little one becomes more alert and particular about remaining still, these sessions are best scheduled after their regular feeding or nap.

Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled for either morning or late afternoon an hour or two before sunset, as these times provide for the best natural light for outdoor photography. Accommodations for other times can also be arranged to meet your schedule. With newborns photographed in-home, sessions are best scheduled for when your home’s interior is at its brightest, while also taking into account your little one’s preferred sleeping and eating habits. Bookings can be made for both weekdays and weekends.

Absolutely! Feel free to pick a location you enjoy or has meaning to you. I’m also happy to suggest a location. Many outdoor public locations are free of charge, but if your chosen location requires a permit or reservation to shoot on the property, we’ll work together to make the necessary arrangements. Admission, parking, and permit fees would be in addition to the package price.
Maternity sessions are best photographed in a quiet, natural location with little to no public traffic, allowing for more privacy. Newborn sessions are typically photographed in-home at your residence, which allows us to capture the complete story of your baby becoming one with you and your family in their new surroundings. If your home is unavailable or not ideal, arrangements can be made to stage the session at a beautiful loft space in downtown Newburyport. Please inquire for details and fees required to reserve this space.

As we near our session date, I’ll be checking in on the weather and will reach out to you if the forecast requires we reschedule. Though rain would require rescheduling, overcast is just fine and provides for wonderful, diffuse lighting!

All of my sessions are very relaxed and designed to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Combining unobtrusive camerawork with friendly portraiture, my promise is to always be a motivating and reassuring energy as we work together. Laughing and being yourself are all encouraged! And as a natural light photographer, we’ll enjoy exploring our chosen location to capture a variety of images: gently posed & candid, fun & lively, stationary and moving.

Prior to the shoot, a consultation on wardrobe, color, and texture is always welcome. Keep in mind, you’ll feel most at home during the session by being true to you and wearing what best suits your personality. Wardrobe changes are allowed, though full clothing changes are best reserved for the longer sixty minute session. You’re invited to include props, personal mementos, baby announcements, or items relating to your little one’s arrival!

Each image you receive will have been edited for color balance, contrast, and tone equal to the quality standard of the images shared on my website. Additional cosmetic editing, such as blemish removal, will be performed by request on any image ordered for an album or as a print through my lab.

Once edited, your images will be uploaded to an online gallery, accessible from any computer or mobile device for 60 days. From the gallery, you’ll be able to download your images in high-resolution and share the images with family and friends. Prints can also be ordered directly from the gallery.

Archival prints, canvas art, seasonal cards, and albums can be ordered through your Personalized Online Gallery. Prints are produced by a lab that caters to professional photographers. The prints you receive are color accurate, more resistant to fading, deliver excellent flesh reproduction, detail sharpness, and brilliant image quality.
