COSTA MESA ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

What a great location for an engagement shoot: the OC Fair!  I hadn't been to the OC Fair prior to this session, so, as I normally do for all new locations, I decided to arrive a bit early to scope out the grounds for possible photo ops.  But boy, you'd need at least a day to cover all there is to do at this fair.  The place is huge!  In fact, the week after this session, I returned to the fairgrounds with my wife and daughter just to explore more, and see what I missed.   And it's a lot easier to chow down on deep-fried funnel cake when you're not hauling around two cameras.

Jenny and Alex really made the most of the occasion: they sampled delicious food, shopped the markets, played their hand at a few carnival games, and kept their enthusiasm strong as we continued shooting into the early evening, adrift in a sea of colors and lights.  Jenny and Alex were completely at ease shooting this intimate session amongst the crowds of the fair, and despite all those in attendance, there were plenty of spots to stage our camera.   The only blip of the night was when an overzealous fairgoer threatened to "beat me up" and take away my camera, as he apparently thought I was taking unsolicited pictures of our loving couple.  That sure would have put a damper on things!  Oh, the egg on his face.   I suppose I should be flattered for being truly uber-unobtrusive?
