Grace + Josh [Redondo Beach Historic Library Wedding]

REDONDO BEACH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Back in 1987, thanks to the film Dirty Dancing, the song "I Had The Time of My Life" was all the rage.  Even today, the song endures, and when I learned in advance that Josh and Grace had choreographed their first dance to this popular ballad, I knew everyone was in for a great show. And boy, they didn't disappoint!  I've seen a lot of wonderful first dances, but this one was definitely one to remember.  And their venue -- the Redondo Beach Historic Library -- made for the perfect stage, with its warm, cozy interior providing the perfect hall for their evening dance number.  Built in 1930, this building was indeed once an authentic library.  Empty, decorative bookshelves still adorn the perimeter walls.   You gotta love how a space once prized for peace and quiet has transformed into a place of sound and celebration.

Josh and Grace married on the sprawling lawn of the property, affording their guests not just a great view of their nuptials, but of the waters behind them.  The weather was also super cooperative, making for a classic Southern California sunset later in the day.  Another favorite on the grounds is the giant fig tree, a grand witness to the many who have exchanged vows here over the years.

Thanks again Josh and Grace for letting me be a part of your day.  Coincidentally, Josh and I both studied film & photography at Ithaca College in upstate New York.  I didn't discover this until late in our collaboration -- always great to work with a fellow alum!  Enjoy the photographs.
