GOVERNMENT CENTER + FANEUIL HALL HEADSHOT PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

Despite the wind and chill on this winter New England day, N. sustained an amazing attitude and did a fantastic job during her headshot portrait session at Government Center and Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Downtown Boston! Though headshot sessions wrap fairly quickly at around twenty minutes, I still arrived early to scout the best spots so we could work efficiently and minimize the time out in the deep freeze. Shooting exclusively with natural light is another plus, as it keeps us nimble and mobile to move about the location. And when you’re shooting outdoors this time of year, bring a jacket just like N. did, for a quick warm-up walking from one spot to the next.

Boston, of course, offers amazing architecture to incorporate into your photography, and even though the background is typically blurred in headshots, you’ll want to give some thought as to what you’ll be using the headshots for and if the location choice is appropriate for that need. I’m always happy to offer location suggestions and give feedback on spots you may have in mind — and also advise on when the light will be at its best to shoot in those locations.
